If it is hotter than it should be, you should turn it off and let it cool down naturally. Whilst this is happening, you should consider the location of the Xbox. Is it in direct sunlight or near a source of heat, which might make the problem worse? Is the area where the console is kept well ventilated? If either of these scenarios raises a red flag, then you can take steps to correct them yourself. You might find that removing external heat sources or improving air supply will be sufficient for the better operation of your console.
Some other Xbox 360 three red light repair methods involve checking the cables and power supply themselves. If you have a friend with an Xbox, then you are pretty much good to go. Just borrow their power supply and cables and try them on your Xbox. If it works properly, you may well have found the cause of your problems.
If none of these techniques make a difference, then don’t despair. An expensive trip to the Xbox engineers is not the only solution to your problems.
