Word of Warcraft – First Aid Leveling Guide


First Aid is a crucial skill for any and all classes of the game. Even if the class is a healer or has a healing spell or skill, if you have run out of mana or even ran out of health potions, first aid will allow you to bandage yourself up for a portion of hit points.

First aid also allows you to heal party or raid members. At it’s highest level you can make Heavy Frostweave Bandages. They heal 5800 damage over 8 seconds. The person applying the bandage needs to sit still and channel for that time. If you have any damage over time effects on you or are taking any damage this can cause the bandaging to be cancelled.

First aid is very popular among rogues and caster classes. They have lower hit points, and a bandage can usually make up for a majority of their health lost. This is great for the classes without healing spells because it at least allows them a faster recovery time before they can get back into their next fight.

First aid is very cloth intensive, and there are only two ways that you can get the cloth required to skill up first aid. By hunting and looting it from the monsters and enemies you kill, or by purchasing it from the auction house. It can become very expensive and cause a delay if you have to hunt up the cloth from killing enemies.

There are also some very useful side products in First Aid. Anti venoms being one of the best items while levelling up if you do not possess a spell or skill that can cure poison.

Player versus player is also a very good place to use bandages. You can only use a bandage on a target once every minute. In player versus player, you can work your way into a hidden area or in a group of players from your faction and heal yourself up without having to rely on other players.

Player versus player or “PVP” has a very everyone for themselves feel to it. Even though you are required to work as a team for a common set of goals, players tend to look only after themselves and this leaves those without a way to heal relying on skills like First Aid.

Trying to use first aid in combat could be nothing more than a waste of time, as you will do nothing more than cause the 1 minute cool down to trigger and waste potential time in that one minute when you can gain the full uninterrupted benefit of the bandage.
